Hypnotherapy FAQ's
1. What Hypnotherapy is not:
Hypnotherapy is not what is portrayed in Film and Television. You are actually awake and aware, just in a state of deep relaxation. You will not do or say anything that you don't want to, and you are always in control. I am trained in Hypnotherapy, which means that I act as a trained therapeutic holistic practitioner, not just a hypnotist. My sessions are client led, you let me know what you need to make positive and long lasting changes in your life. We will work together to access your subconscious mind, allowing a healthier, happier you to emerge.
2. Can I be hypnotized and what does it feel like?
We all are familiar with hypnosis, even if we aren't aware of it yet. We go into a light state of trance at least twice a day. When you're lying in bed about to fall asleep, and when you're first waking up for your day are both examples of a hypnotic state. Have you ever driven your car or ridden public transport and gotten to your destination without quite remembering your entire trip? This is a very common hypnotic state known as "Highway Hypnosis". Our subconscious minds take over at different times throughout the day when we daydream, do dishes, drive the same route, etc. It is highly likely that not only can you successfully go into a hypnotic state, but you've already done so, and know what it feels like in general.
3. What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy was the basis for psychotherapy/ talk therapy.
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic process where you are guided to your inner mind, therefore being able to create powerful change through your own self awareness. You are always in control of your own mind, as well as your ability to access and share information. You are awake and aware during the entire process, you are not asleep, just in a deep state of relaxation.
What a Hypnotherapist does is guide you to a deeper state of relaxation, getting you in touch with your subconscious mind. We hold a safe space for you to explore and facilitate change at the highest level of your being. Hypnotherapy allows you to create profound and life lasting changes when you are ready.
4. How long does a Hypnotherapy session usually take?
A Clinical session may take 1 to 1.5 hours, it really depends on what you would like to work on. It's good to block out an hour and a half for a session, though your session may be shorter. Past Life and Ancestral Regression lasts about 2.5 hours.
Right now we are offering sessions worldwide through Zoom or in person in New Orleans, LA.
